Srikalahasti Sri Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy Temple is a beautiful temple located in the holy town of Srikalahasti near Tirupati. Located ideally on the banks of River Swarnamukhi, this town is visited by many a devotee from far and wide. The temple is an important pilgrimage of South India. It is an ancient temple covering the area between the river bank and the foot of the hills. The temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva and is popularly known as Dakshina Kailasam.

This temple is one of the greatest impressions left behind by King Krishnadevaraya of Vijayanagar dynasty. The name of the town was derived from three animals, Sri (spider), Kala(snake) and Hasti (elephant). It is believed that these animals worshiped lord Shiva at this place and attained enlightenment. The main shrine houses a statue, which shows all three animals.

The mind blowing architectural style of the temple is the result of the combination of the Chola, Pallava, Pandya and Krishnadevaraya styles of architecture. Located close to the famous Tirupati Temple(richest temple in the world), Srikalahasti Sri Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy Temple has mesmerizing gopurams. Another striking feature of the temple is a grand hundred pillared mandapam. The exquisite carvings on the walls of the temple are notable.
