Jawaharlal Nehru Planetarium
It is an ideal place to explore the fascinating world of astronomy and the amazing facts of universe through shows.


The Fort and Palace of Tipu Sultan
This 18th century Indian military architecture was the stronghold of Hyder Ali and later his son Tipu Sultan. The structure, even after witnessing several fierce and bloody battles, still stands tall retaining the age old glory. The fort was last used for military purpose in 1888.


Lal Bagh
A wonderful place for the nature lovers, this garden consists of countless trees, flowers, bushes and plants. A lake, a sit-out on a hill-top and a fascinating nursery are some other attractions of the Lal Bagh. Apart from that, the expansive lush lawns, a profusion of flowerbeds, lotus pools and tinkling fountains add some more beauty to the garden.


Vidhana Soudha
This granite building, housing both the Secretariat and State Legislature and several other offices, is purely an official building. Yet it is frequented for its unique and distinctive architecture based on the Neo-Dravidian style. It boasts of being one of India's most magnificent public buildings that present truly a breathtaking picture.


Cubbon Park
The prominent attractions at this lush grassy park are the flower beds, shady bowers and flowering trees. The illuminated fairy fountains lighting up in the evening are a real treat to the eyes. The trees here are meticulously labeled with their scientific names and their ages. The aquarium with a multitude of fishes, the City Central Library which contains rare books, a children's playground, and a quaint old toy train 'the Puttani Express' are a few other fascinating features of the park.

Apart from these, Ulsoor Lake, Jumma Masjid, Gangadhareshware Temple (Cave Temple) and the ISKCON Temple are some of the other famous sites in Bangalore.


Shopping
The markets in Bangalore are famous for silks, wood carvings, copper ware, cane and bamboo furniture and crafts, lacquer ware, sandal wood items, etc. These items are available here at very reasonable rates.


Accommodation
Being an important tourist destination and business center, Bangalore has various hotels ranging from the luxury to deluxe and the very ordinary. These hotels cater to everybody's taste and vims. There are many restaurants and fast food chains in different cadre.


Getting There

By Air: Bangalore operates regular flights to Calcutta, Bombay, Delhi, Chennai, Hyderabad, Trivandrum, Panaji, Kochi etc. The airport is located 6 km from the city center.

By Rail: Bangalore is connected to all the major Indian cities by rail. Several super fast trains such as Shatabhi, Bridavan, Lalbagh express also connect it with the major cities of India.

By Road: Almost all the cities and towns of the state and neighboring areas are well connected to Bangalore by road. The Main bus terminal of the city is just opposite to the City Railway Station.
