Sugriva's Cave is a natural cave in Hampi, which was once the home of the mythological monkey king of the Ramayana. Carved by the fingers of nature, this cave is simply fascinating. Steeped in glorious history, the cave is a major attraction of Hampi. Tourists from across the globe come here to see this natural wonder holding sheer mythological importance. The peaceful ambiance of the cave is itself an attraction. From here one can treat one's eyes to the mesmerizing views of the surroundings. A beautiful river flows near the cave adding more charm to it.

According to the legend, goddess Sita let fall her jewelery at this place when abducted by the demon king Ravana. It is the sacred place where Lord Rama and his brother Laxmana are believed to have met Sugriva when they came to this cave in search of goddess Sita. Another attraction here, which one must not miss is the Sita Sarovar, a pond.

Festooned with arresting paintings, the interiors of Sugriva's Cave is a great delight to the eyes. The rocky area where the cave is located notable for its footprints. According to the legend these footprints are of Lord Rama and Lakshmana.
