Periyar Wildlife Sanctuary

Sprawling over an area of 777 sq km, the sanctuary is equally known for its scenic beauty. This sanctuary is also a Tiger Reserve. It houses around 62 mammal species, 320 bird species, 45 reptile species, 38 fish species and 160 butterfly species.


Periyar Lake
It is a beautiful lake passing through the Periyar Wildlife Sanctuary. It offers picturesque views and exciting boating facility. It is also a promising site for wildlife sighting.


Spice Plantation and Tea Gardens
Periyar also takes pride in its aromatic and beautiful spice and tea gardens. The aroma, ambiance and surrounding of these gardens are simply heartwarming.
