Botanical Gardens

The beautiful botanical gardens of Pondicherry are mesmerizing and refreshing. Ideally located in the center of the Tamil part of Pondicherry, the gardens attract many a visitor. The French influence can also be seen in these gardens. These wonderful gardens were laid by the French in 1826.

The Botanical Gardens houses a variety of plants, including many foreign and exotic ones. It boasts of around 1500 plant species. A visit to these well manicured gardens is truly a delightful treat to the eyes and soul.  The destination also has a musical garden where you can enjoy a pleasant evening on weekends.

The Bharathi Park

Located in the French Quarter of Pondicherry, the Bharathi Park is a famous picnic spot. Apart from the wonderful plant species, the park has a pond.

Keezhoor

It is a historic village famous for its 400 year old banyan tree, whose aerial branches sprawl over a few acres of land. It is a great experience to see this tree.
